HUD Secretary Announces Grants for Tribal Community Housing

The funding comprises final awards under a 2023 tribal grant program.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) recently allocated $70 million to assist 38 Tribes build and renovate community buildings and family housing on their reservations. This funding represents the final portion of awards for the Indian Community Development Block Grant (ICDBG) program’s 2023 fiscal year, a program that was developed through feedback from Tribal consultation.

“As we commemorate the 50th anniversary of the ICDBG program, we are investing in the continued growth and prosperity of Tribal communities across our Nation,” said Secretary Marcia Fudge, who will retire this week. “The Biden-Harris Administration remains steadfast in its commitment to fulfilling the Federal Government’s responsibility to our Tribal Nations.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and his advisors as they prepare to nominate an individual for HUD secretary.
  • For Secretary Fudge as she completes the allocation of funding before she leaves office.
  • For tribal leaders to put the grants to efficient and effective use.
